HELIOS 3 was built to cross oceans so her technical capabilities and equipment were designed and built to scale. Exceptionally spacious and with good headroom (2.11m/7’), her 38m2 (408 ft²) bridge and ship’s office on the portside are decorated in light wood and tobacco leather to guest standard.

The otherwise traditional layout includes extra-large raised settees and tables for the owner and guests with excellent views over the bow. There are no sharp corners and the equipment console is in Mocha Caesarstone like the tables. There are fold-down wing stations port and starboard.

The engine room is midships on the lower deck with the ECR and engineer’s quarters on portside and the lazarette and wet locker starboard-side. The engine room is fitted with a workshop aft. HELIOS 3 is powered by twin 3512B Caterpillar engines, 1650 hp each, on

Denmark Sound Down mounts to reduce noise and vibration. For comfort at anchor, she is equipped with Quantum QC-1800 Zero Speed stabilizers. HELIOS 3 has a 3,200 nm range at 13.5knots and a maximum speed of 16.8 knots. At 10 knots her ranges increases to 5,000nm.

Lazarette

HELIOS 3’ technical spaces and storage capacities are truly amazing. The large lazarette and adjoining wet locker house the 6,000 US/gal per day water makers and the diving gear respectively. A beautifully crafted watertight door opens onto the swim platform aft while a second door leads into the garage where

the 5.8m/19’ Novurania Chase, 2 sea bobs and an array of water toys are stowed.

In addition to the bosun’s locker on the foredeck, HELIOS 3 has stand up bilges in the tween deck under the crew quarters and guest cabins and massive refrigeration areas in the galley and crew mess.

Crew cabin

Logo gauche2.jpg

HELIOS 3 accommodates 14 crew members in 7 cabins. The captain’s quarters are on the bridge deck while the remaining six twin cabins with en suite bathrooms are on the lower deck forward. All accommodations are built in light wood to a very high standard. The crew mess and galley are on the main deck and both enjoy natural light. The galley has a

Large central island with green and black granite countertops, strategically positioned with direct access to the walk-in refrigerator, freezer and dry storage. In addition, for seamless  dining service, food can be taken directly up to the sun deck in the elevator while guests are dining. A pantry leads into the formal dining area aft.
